LORE - Blake Mathus
Blake was a child from the tribes of Ail Rut. His tribe had been the closest to the cities, and so were more inclined with technology. The tribes in general, though barbaric, were actually quite smart, they just weren't as advanced as the larger city, tech-dependant civilizations on the planet. His had been smarter than the rest for the most part, and at times would intermingle with both the city and tribes. Blake's mother died during child birth, but his father still cared for him. His father was the tribes best duelist, and would represent the tribe in the Ail Rut Global Tournament. The tournament was the biggest on Ail Rut, accepting 1 duelist from each Tribe or City. Blake's father, Dracon had actually won the Tournament twicse before, and was nominated every year by his tribe ever since he was 21. Only those who were at least the age of 21 and were natural born citizens from Ail Rut could be entered for the tournament.
Eventually though, Dracon was in desperate need of money. Any money won in the Gloibal Tournament mainly went towards the tribe or city that won it, only a small portion was given to the actual winner, and though that had been enough to get by for the two, eventually trade prices had been jacked up due to the icnrease interference with the GA. Dracon had then heard about the Duel Colosseum on Unity, and how the winner of each Colosseum match won all the earnings for his respective match. Dracon left Blake with the community, as they were a tight group. He promised his son he'd be back, and so off he went to the Duel Colosseum. He had been doing amazing for himself, going with perfect streak, until he defeated Tyle Krandus, the son of Unic Krandus, head of the Krandus crime family on Unity. Tyle emarissingly lost his match against Dracon, and was laughed at by all the Colosseum goers. Word spread of his lost, enraged by this, he ordered Dracon killed for ever embarassing him infront of the people of Unity. Francis Gord and his father, Larem Gord went to Ail Rut to give news to Blake and his tribe about the terrible death of his father. Larem had been the one to sponsor Dracon, and had been a good friend of his. It was through this that Francis and Blake met.
Francis had been there for Blake through the lost of his father, and the two became close friends. Even after Francis left, Blake still kept in touch with him. After the loss of his father he vowed to become the best duelist he could be, even better than his own father. He had entered every tournament he could, fighting tooth and nail to get to the top. It was through this that a GA recruiter had taken notice of him. The recruiter spoke to Blake about becoming an officer for the GA, and though Blake was hesitant at first, after he was told he could be dueling people all across the galaxy, he reluctantly accepted the offer.
It was then that he began his trials. He had heard doubts about him, especially since he was one of the older recruits there, but that didn't stop him. He used it as motivation if anything else. He flew through his trials, going by them 1 by 1, it was the best Trials Record the GA had ever recorded. The only one he struggled with had been the 11th trial. The compliancy trial (read on Eilenes backstory to see what they did exactly). They asked him the compliancy question, and though he struggled with himself internally about this question, he answered "...No.". Afterwards he practically had no recollection of the 11th trial. It was the night of his graduation ceremony that a young Eilene had snuck into his quarters, begging him for a duel. The two sparked, and after an intense duel, Blake knew there was something special about Eilene.
Beginning his training courses in the other Summoning methods, he met Harn. Harn had been the Synchro tutor (you can read up on Harn's lore to read more about there training). Harn took a liking to Blake, and so drilled him more so than the others. He'd duel Blake over and over, giving him simulations to run, ones where he'd have to synchro summon 5 monsters in 1 turn (with virtual Links), and defeat his opponent. It was time for Blake to eventually go on his first mission, choosing his deck. He had told Eilene all about it, and was completely stumped on which method to choose. "Oh come on ya idiot, you know you have to pick Synchro, Harn wouldn't put this much time into you if you werent good at it!". Blake agreed, and so his first mission was one to Accellus, to explore the sector of SYnchro Summoning with a mentor of his choosing.
Harn was ecstatic to see Blake choose him and his homeworld for his first mission. The two journeyed through the oceans of Accellus. Harn eventually led him to the sunken temple of Titania. This was where Harn had discoved his Ancient Dragon deck, and was hoping Blake would discover something for himself. Reading through the ancient texts, Blake discovered a statement, "To survive the encounter with the dragon's fierce might, one must have courage beyond that of any knight." After reading the scroll of ancient text aloud, a sealed wall had opened up, revealing what looked to be a deck atop a metalic pedistal. Blake looked upon the deck to see it contained what was called the "Knight" archetype. Harn could not have been more proud of him.
Returning to GA headquarters, Blake finally had a deck at hand to begin his missions.

Re: LORE - Blake Mathus
Blake had gone through various missions, keeping up with Eilene, who had told him some crazy story about being hypnotized into falling in line for the GA, and also keeping up with his mentor Harn who had been abit more agitated nowadays. It wasn't till his most recent mission, that Blake felt something was off. Blake had been sent back home to Ail Rut to investigate an engineer by the name of Glade, and her daughter Claris. He was told Glade had been illegally engineering weapons for space pirates and bounty hunters, and that he was to look into her and her contacts. Returning to his homeworld, he had set up a meeting with Glade. He was going to ease his way in, convince her he as a friend, and see if he could get her to leak some information to him. They had been out having lunch at a small cafe, and the meeting had been going well, until he received a text from one of his GA crew members saying "We're in, keep her distracted". Utterly confused about what was going on, Blake continued with his lunch with Glade. She seemed like a nice person, she engineered more efficient ways to sustain energy, and had even offered it to the tribes. She had developed better safety protocols within transportain methods utilized both by common folk or GA officials. Honestly he couldn't see her selling dangerous weaponry to the likes of criminals. It wasn't till she recieved a call from Blake's teammate that the meeting went south. She stared at Blake in digust and said, "Who the hell are you, and what do you guys want with my daughter?", before he could even respond she ran off.
Blake tailed her, following her back to her apartment, and there they were. Glade's daughter was being held with a gun to her head by one of Blake's member who had decided to go against what was discussed in the briefing and took matters into his own hands to "Speed the process up" in his own words. Blake pulled his gun on the teammate, who responded "Look Blake, you can drop the act, I'm just rtrying to speed this up. Now Glade, you wanna start telling us who you're supplying? Or do you want me to put little Claris here to sleep?". Glade yelled at him saying "I'M not supplying criminals!!! I was supplying Unity merchants with defense mechanisms in their cargo ships, they kept getting attacked by Pirates, abusive GA officers, and even by Ail Rut members here during their legal trade deals. LEGAL!". The man was not happy with this answer, "Oh come on now, that's really the best you got?". She responded with "Check my logs! All my transactions are in there! You'll see!", but the man refused. Blake had done a quick scan on her logs and found nothing illegal, but his teammate wasnt listening. Throughout all the screaming between all sides, there came a lound shot.
Blakehad shot his teammate clear in the head. Claris went screaming to her mother crying. "Thank you so much...thank you...", she wept while holding tightly to her child. "Call the police, tell them it was self defence, show them the same evidence you showed me. I'll return to my superiors, tell them the police interfered, they won't bother you anymore once the reports come back that your clean....I'm so sorry for all this...", Blake warned her. "No, no apologies, you saved my little girls life, I owe you. Thank you so much". Afterwards Blake left and gave the news to his superiors. Telling them he was on his way back to their temporary set up on Ail Rut when he heard his teammate went rogue, and by the time he reached him he was already dead, with police on the scene. The superiors were dissapointed, but not with Blake, they were disappointed with his teammate. "Whys that?" He asked. "Because he didn't go rogue, we sent him in to take care of both the girl and her mother. Didn't want to tell you since you were a first year, you were just the distraction...shame he couldnt finish them off before police arrived."
After hearing this Blake was disgusted. The superiors themselves called the order, his teammate hadn't gone rogue. To hear that the force he had been working for to instill justice within the galaxy were just as bad as the bounty hunters and criminals he had been hunting shook him to his core. He vistied Eilene to tell her about the incident, but when he saw her she was frightened. She told him about the letters, and how they were "Sending her home" next week. Blake knew something was up, and promised he'd look into it. Stopping by Harn's to ask him about it, Harn told him he had heard rumours of them really sending the recruits that didn't make it to their deaths. He had also told him that they haven't updated him on the most important case of his life, but that he couldn't look into it, as he is not a GA Officer anymore, so he cannot enter the GA Officers sector. But he did remember the access codes to the intel core, and that since Blake was an officer, he could give him the codes so Blake could look into the entire mess.
So during the night, Blake had snuck off to the intel core, and had entered the proper access codes in order to enter. Reviewing through files, he had found some distrubing information. First was the truth behind Harn's mission on Ail Rut, the second was that the GA has attempted to take out anyone they think poses as a threat in their goal to protect the galaxy. Lastly he found out what they did to failed recruits, he had found footage from a transport ship, transporting a failed recruit. The ship was automated, with no one else on board, and randomly opened all the Vacuum seals among the ship. The recruit would then fly off into space, dying an agonizing and painful death. He sifted through all the corruption and knew he couldnt stay there any long. Downloading all the files he could, he snuck out, and immediately went and got Eilene from the recruitment Quarters.
They met with Harn, telling him what they had found, and knew they had to get out. Leaving on Harn's ship, they set for Unity, since Blake had contacts there the GA didnt know about. After changing ships seven times and switching courses about 4, they eventually landed on Unity, meeting Blake's old friend, Francis.

Re: LORE - Blake Mathus
Before landing on Unity, Blake had split up from his friends, realizing that they'd pass a potential Linkium-filled asteroid. It turns out the asteroid had been a comet, and that the GA had been observing it. Until recently it has finally slowed own enough, and so he wanted to get any Linkium he can before the GA realized. Landing on the now barren comet/asteroid, there had been what looked like a large pillar pointing towards a hold within the asteroid. Blake had jumped down, and as he did, the hole began to rise, with what looked like stairs that led to a pedestal. Climbing the stairs, he got to the pedestal, and found a small shard of what looked to be medal on the pedestal. Picking it up, the entire comet began to glow again, and put forth its last energy into the piece of metal Blake was now holding. The metal formed into a card, and afterwards an insignia burned into his right arm, that of a Shield. In his hands he held the card "Comet Flare Dragon". Returning to his ship utterly confused, he flew back to the mainship where Eilene and Harn were waiting for him.
On there way to Unity Harn and Blake had done research into this. There had been a legend, one that was apparently first told by the founder of GA himself. Someone who himself was believed to be a legend as no one had ever seen him, for all they knew he was dead due to old age. But it was said that there had been a warrior, a hero that wore a necklace with that of a shield with pride. Among some sort of great chaos, he had faced against an evil foe who disrupted the universe. It was said that the same great foe had force the Universe to collapse on itself, and so before this, the hero had broken his shield, and sent the pieces far enough so that the universe could not destroy them. It was said that the pieces survived, and were destined to found those who could properly protect the Galaxy from grave threats, marking them so that other Guardians could find eachother, and bestowing them with a card to protect them among danger.
Fascinated by all this, Blake swore he'd find the other Guardians. Eventually they landed on Unity, greeted by Blake's old friend Francis. Blake knew the GA would be after them, but he knew that no matter what they wouldn't be able to do anything if they found them on Unity. Eventually Eilene went back to Baerone, and Harn to Accellus, to begin recruiting for the Resistance. Blake had called out to Glade, who agreed to recruit for them on Accellus and speak to her merchant friends. Ofcourse Francis had Unity covered. So that left Blake with planning. He had to begin strategizing ways to bring down the GA, and also how to get a planets full cooporation. It was during one of his planning sessions during the night that he had seen a workshop get attacked by what looked like a gang. Remembering about how his father was mercilessly killed by the same type of scum, Blake jumped from his chair and ran outside to help the man. The building had already caught fire, but within the rubble saw what was a fishlike man, similar to Harn. He struggled to pull that man out, but eventually 2 girls, slightly younger then him, who were twins assisted him. They had seen the fire and knew they had to do something. They helped lift the rubble and pull the man out. It was when this happened that Blake caught somoene watching them from the forest, and knew he had to chase after him. "Wait! Where are you going?" asked on of the sisters. "After the guys who did this, you guys can stay and take him to a hospital, I'll take care of them", running into the forest he chased the gang member watching them.
Behind him one of the twins followed, grabbing him by the shoulder saying "Dont be an idiot, you're gonna fight a whole gang by yourself!?!". "Umm yeah" he responded. "Well too bad, I want a piece of them for myself too. Can't let scum get away with shit like that.", said the girl. Intrigued, Blake agreed. Following the man's tracks the two talked to eachother. "My names Amber, and you are?", Amber asked. Realizing he couldn't say his real name due to him having to lay low, he thoguht quickly saying "Matt...the names Matt. You guys don't look like Unity citizens, you from Ail Rut too?" he asked her. "No. But I assume you are", she responded. "Well yeah, so wait if you're human, but not from Ail Rut, where are you from?", he said. "None of your business, now be quiet, we're here", they had just arrived at thier Gang's base. Or more like home. As it was home to Tyle Krandus, son of the infamous Krandus crime family.
They found their point of entry, a basement window that seemed to be unguarded. Sneaking in, the girl said "There a 4 of above us on the first floor. I can hear their footsteps. So what's your plan bigshot?" she asked him. "I saw at least 8 guys tearing down the workshop, the other 4 must be meeting up with Tyle on the second floor, I'm assuming Tyle has at least 4 guards on him at all time, so that means there should be around 12 guards and Tyle. The moment we go through, they're gonna escort Tyle out. How many do you think you can handle?", he asked her. "All of them" she retorted. "No seriously" he said, "All of them" she said again. "Okay....well then you handle the guys on the first floor, while they're distracted, I'll go up and take care of Tyle and his men.". Agreeing with the plan, she attacked the men in an instant, before Blake had even made it up the stairs, Amber was already behind him. "They didn't set off any alarms. I didn't let them". "Damn", Blake thought to himself. As much as he wanted to ask her how she did that, he was not about to let his father's killer get away. Busting into the room, the 2 attacks the remaining 8 guards speaking to Tyle. Until a bomb had gone off.
The bomb was set as a precaution by Tyle's men, and as the bomb went off, a barrier had formed around Tyle and 2 of his men, protecting them from the blast. which had made the floor collapse under them, besides wehre Tyle and his gaurds were. Amber and Blake, stood back up, Amber, being shielded by what looked like a magma-like dragon, and Blake his Comet Flare Dragon. The 2 returned to their card forms, and Amber giving Blake an odd glare. Blake knew it wasnt ordinary for people to be able to control thier duel mosnters outside of a duel, and that was something not even he knew he could do.
After the explosin more gaurds poured in, holding guns up on Amber and Blake. Tyle stepped outside his barrier saying "Now now men, lets not be hasty, I like to play with my food before I eat", snickering devilishly. "Tell you what, if you two can beat my two cards Bruno and Trevor here, I'll give you guys a 15 second headstart before I let my guards here mow you down.". "We'll take them all on if you want?", said Amber. "Oh uh Yeah!" Said Blake hesitantly. Tyle looked at the two suprised, and then responded "Heh, sure, whatever, you're funeral.". The two activated their duel disks, while the other guards all activated theirs. The floor beneath them had opened up a bit to reveal rods. "Each life point you lose, you get shocked. Simple. Alright, go on now. I'll be fair and only have the go at you 4 at a time". "Easy" Amber responded. After which the 2 worked together. Blake was astounded by Amber's skilled with a card. She showed no hesitation, no fear, absolutely nothign when dueling. Just a calm form of pride. Blake took note, realizing he was a mere few yards away from the man who had his father assassinated. Using his anger, he blew right through the guards infront of him. Both him and Amber hadn't lost a single life point. It wasn't till the last cast 8 duelists, that the 2 had to brought out their aces. More so to probably show off to the other. Amber bringing out "Magma-Eyes Volatile Dragon", it was a magnificent dragon, with his wings a blayzing roar across the sky. Blake felt it was time to match the heat, brining out "Comet Flare Dragon" for the very first time. The dragon flared across the sky with a glowing blue tailing behind it. Blake was openly impressed with Amber's dragon, and though Amber didn't show it much, he could tell by her persistant staring that something about his dragon fascinated her. Something that Blake hadn't notice was that his Dragon was not only a Synchro monster, but a Link as well. Something he believed Amber took notice in aswell, but the guards infront of them, trembling, probably didn't even give it a thought with how scared they were. Though to his surprise, Amber never asked about it. Curious as to exactly what Amber has seen before, and whether this was the first for her seeing a link hybrid, or just a another occasion?
Using their dragons they completely tore thorugh the rest of the guards, and created an explosion which completely leveled the entire property. "Payback for that workshop you burned down" said Amber. With both their dragons staring down at Tyle, the man literally peed himself. Blake took one good swing at the man cowering behind his luxorioius chair, knocking him out cold and even breaking his jaw. "A little much don't you think?" She asked him, which actually made Blake laugh a bit, seeing all the destruction caused by the both of them. Seeing him laugh, Amber actually snickered a bit, but then straightened up. "I'll take him in. I have some contacts, they can take care of him. You know, we're currently forming a...type of team you might say. If you-" stopping here right there, Blake knew she must have had some connection to the GA. "It's ok, I'm not really into the whole "fighting crime" business. This was just a one time thing....thanks though.", Blake told her. "Huh. Well alright. You take care Matt", she responded. Dragging off Tyle into the forest.
Blake returned home, with Francis worried about where he had been. Blake told him not to worry about it, and continued on with his work. Eventually overtime forming a militia to fight the GA, he realized the task would not be easy. Especially after meeting Amber and her sister, who was probably just as skilled as her, and seeing the ferocity in thier monsters, he knew they'd be the toughest challenge he'd probably ever face. So continuing forward, he's determined to make sure the Resistance has a fighting change, and that the next time he meets Amber, he's prepared, because it will most likely not be as friends.
On there way to Unity Harn and Blake had done research into this. There had been a legend, one that was apparently first told by the founder of GA himself. Someone who himself was believed to be a legend as no one had ever seen him, for all they knew he was dead due to old age.
